Date of construction: 2014 - 2016
Info: The Ceramic brickwork is used as loadbearing structure and used as façade as well as internal walling material. It shows, how even semi-transparent building structures can be created to form internal and external spaces of exceptional warmth, inviting to spend recreational time and offers a lot of interesting views from each place in the building. Even the floors are ceramic pavers, giving the spaces a complete appearance.
Ceramic bricks and pavers have a very long technical lifetime (> 150 years). They are free from maintenance without a need to renovate over this long period. After end of life of the building the facing bricks can either be cleaned and used again or crushed and used for landfill purposes. No environmental harmful substances would be set free, neither to groundwater nor to air. The pavers can be used again at another site like new ones.
