PEDEVILLA SAND IN TAUFERS - SUSTAINABILITY MEETS ARCHITECTURE

PEDEVILLA SAND IN TAUFERS

Location: Mühlen in Taufers / South Tyrol – Italy

Date of construction: 2012-2014

Info: The detached house is located at the exit of the Mühlwald valley at 862 m above sea level.

The rising roof shape makes the loose sequence of rooms striving upwards recognizable. Atriums connect the individual living levels. Square window openings of different sizes refer to significant points of the centrally steep mountain landscape.

The uniform choice of materials consisting of local sands, lime and white cement underlines the monolithic character of the building. Inside, Passeier gneiss, hand-planed elm and waxed bronze were used.
