Creating space sustainable in Amsterdam | Sustainability meets Architecture

Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Date of construction: 2022

Info: This apartment building contains 44 studios, maisonettes, and apartments with an open roof garden. Due to the lack of space, a material was sought that would enable the thinnest possible façade; the EcoBrick facing bricks. The building is adjacent to a popular promenade, and this is why Brazilian brickwork was chosen in the ground floor area. role, building requires a careful choice of materials. With 35% less volume, the EcoBrick takes a step in the direction of sustainability. A smaller format means less raw materials and less energy used in production and transport, and hence it is the right choice when the most important factor is a small ecological footprint.
